Multi-Time State Champion • Grand American Bronze Medalist

Trap Team Xcel AA27AA

About Rick

Born and raised in Toms River, New Jersey, Rick now lives in Whiting, NJ—still close to the club where his passion for trapshooting began. As kids, Rick and his brother Ron rode their bikes to a local gun club with their shotguns and homemade Lee Loadall shells because they couldn’t afford factory ammunition.

He began shooting ATA in 2014 and stepped fully into competition in 2015—bringing the same drive he applied to electrical engineering, coaching football, aviation, entrepreneurship, and everything else in his life.

“Set your eyes. Your eyes will tell you when to say ‘Pull.’”

Why Team Xcel

Rick joined Team Xcel because of the people, values, and vision behind the brand. After shooting with other members and meeting Troy, Tracy, and Justin, he felt immediately aligned with the integrity and genuine love for the sport that Xcel represents.

With Xcel now serving the Delmarva region, he’s excited to send fellow shooters—and his students—to a trusted demo location close to home. He also believes the Lady Outlaw line fills a much-needed gap for women and young shooters, including his granddaughters who shoot with him.

Off the Range

When he’s not competing, Rick loves spending time with his six grandchildren. He is a certified SSSF Coach, a licensed private pilot, and holds a 200 Gross Ton Captain’s License. He’s also an entrepreneur—founder of DaKri Corporation and 2B Handy Home Improvements.

Rick has served as President of Ground Swipers, President of the Cavaliers, Vice President of the NJ State Trapshooting Association, and frequently donates 100% of clinic proceeds back to clubs.

Pro Tip

“Set your eyes. If your eyes aren’t ready to track the target, everything else falls apart.”

Fun Fact

Rick turns every shell so the writing is perfectly upright—specifically the “1” in 12-gauge—before loading his gun. Details matter long before you call “Pull.”
